Lillian Tyack
Research Specialist, Measurement and Data Analysis

Lillian is part of the analysis unit and is responsible for machine scoring, data pre-processing, and code development and optimization. She is also leading machine learning projects that train artificial neural networks to validate the human scoring of TIMSS items that have graphical and short written responses. Additionally, Lillian participated in scoring training and aided in the creation of Science item blocks for the TIMSS 2023 assessment.

Lillian joined the TIMSS & PIRLS International Study Center in 2019. She holds an undergraduate degree in Psychology and Cinema Studies from Oberlin College and a Master of Science in Applied Statistics and Psychometrics from Boston College.
